Jan Alphons Dieteren (Jan)

 26-10-1912 Schinnen      01-03-1945 Neuengamme (32)
- Maastricht - April-Mei-stakingen, 1943 -

Jan Dieteren from Schinnen had been living in Maastricht since May 2, 1934[1#2], his wife was Anna Catharina DANIELS from Oud-Vroenhoven. [1#1][1#5]
He was a miner at the Hendrik State Mine in Brunssum and was arrested for sabotage against the Germans. [1#3]
He shows that since the end of the mine strike, resistance in the coal mines was far from broken. The mine strike was part of the April-May strikes [3] in 1943.
He was taken away on August 28, 1944. His widow, who presumably filled out the form, assumes to Germany. [1#3]
But he arrived in Neuengamme from Amersfoort on September 10, 1944. In Neuengamme he had the camp number 49702. [2]
His name is on a monument at the Neuengamme Memorial Site, which is the former concentration camp. [4]
