Funeral service and reburial of Kees van Maas en Waal, 1945

The Stoottroeper Kees van Sambeek, nicknamed Kees van Maas en Waal, district chief of the largest L.O.-district in the Netherlands and with his 23 years simultaneously the youngest in that position. During his work for the Allies he was killed by an accident on 4 April 1945 on the German side of the border near the Achterhoek, he was first buried in Germany and in August reburied with military honors in Nijmegen.
