The fallen resistance people in Limburg
Maricus van de Wetering was a miner and member of the CPN (Communistische Partij Nederland). Arrested on Mai 30, 1942 for having distributed the CPN papers De Vonk and De Waarheid. [2]
On the same day 6 people were arrested in Schaesberg, 7 in Nieuwenhagen and 3 in Ubach over Worms. They were all on a list found at the De Vonk distributor F.E. Scheper. [3]
For Maricus applies the same what the municipality wrote about the arrest of Albert Koenders. [4]
According to Ad van Liempt, he was a more or less accidental reader of De Vonk and thus came into the focus of the Sipo. [1]
Cammaert gives the date of death as November 14, 1942. [4]
The oorlogsgravenstichting.nl and the archives of the CPN-Limburg give the date of death as December 20, 1942. [ogs][2]
His name is on the war memorial in Schaesberg. [5]
He is on the Erelijst 1940-1945 (roll of honor) of the Dutch parliament. [6]
The picture of his In Memoriam card comes from the website vriendenkringneuengamme.nl. [8]
