The father of Jan Loogman was one of the 460 Dutch personalities held hostage by the Germans in Sint Michielsgestel at the beginning of the occupation. Jan went to study in Amsterdam in 1940 and became involved in the student’s resistance.
The whole Loogman family was in the resistance, among others a Jewish girl was hidden but unfortunately arrested and murdered (Duifje Gans, ∗ June 13, 1933 in Amsterdam, † September 06, 1944 in Auschwitz) She was a protégé of the group around Hanna van de Voort. [1]
