The fallen resistance people in Limburg
Fort de Kock was the colonial name for Bukittinggi in Indonesia. Carlos’ father was an officer in the KNIL, the colonial army in what was then the Dutch East Indies. Carlos attended the IC high school on the Leunseweg in Venray. When he was ordered to report for work in the German armaments industry, he went into hiding and attempted to go to England to serve with the Allies. Arrested while trying to cross the Spanish border. He arrived in Buchenwald on October 31 via the Royallieu prison camp in Compiegne, north of Paris. [4]

On the National Field of Honor in Loenen, he is vemeld on the memorial board for the Engelandvaarders. [2]
