On our way to 80 years of freedom

This ecumenical celebration in which not only the Catholic community but also the Jewish and Protestant communities were represented, came about through the cooperation between the local pastors of all denominations and the Peace Working Group in Valkenburg aan de Geul.
Members of the Peace Working Group and local pastors expressed the concept of peace in a text they read aloud. Those present were involved in the celebration through texts that interpreted the word “together.”

The word of welcome by parish priest Constantijn Dieteren set the tone for this special celebration.

The stories of those involved who told visitors their own stories of experience were especially warmly received. It was breathtaking and mouse quiet in the church..
