Report of the celebration
Valkenburg 80 years liberated

on September 13, 2024

This report was originally set up to show the sponsors of our Liberation Festival what was done with their money. A print booklet was created and distributed.
But also the many participants in the organization and of course last but not least our spectators from far and wide might want to see that day “happen again.”
So we made an internet version of it. The next step was a translation into English, especially of the pages, which feature the three US war veterans, who participated in our celebration despite their advanced age.

Translation is done.
This report has been translated into German too: e.g. about the peace vigil on the Goudsberg in Valkenburg, where 63 German soldiers died on Sept. 17, 1944, for Valkenburg the last day of the war.
The Requiem für Auschwitz von Roger Moreno
The forgotten Holocaust Memorial for the deported Sinti in Remscheid.
