Exhibition Through their Eyes

Museum Valkenburg, Sept. 8 - Nov. 24, 2024

During the exhibition Through Their Eyes in Museum Valkenburg we tell the story of the liberation of South Limburg through the eyes of the American liberators.

We do this on the basis of colored photographs of the American press service (US Signal Corps). These colorized and large printed photos make it come alive much more and as a visitor you get a realistic view of what it was really like then.

Highlights for us were undoubtedly the visit of 3 American veterans, together 298 years old. Their reaction was: “fascinating, bringing back good memoires” but also the visit of the US ambassador. She too was very impressed and encouraged us: Keep telling these stories.

We of the We Do Remember Foundation (the organizer of this exhibition) see it as our mission to pass on these memories to the next generation. You can see this exhibition until November 24 in Museum Valkenburg.
