42 Jews from Valkenburg arrested and killed

The preface begins as follows:

During the Second World War, 43 Jewish residents were deported from Valkenburg. Only one of them, Erwin Hirschberg, survives and returns after the war. The remaining 42 are killed in the gas chambers of Auschwitz and Sobibor or are killed in a different way. The first to be arrested is Eva Cok-de Wilde on 23 June 1942, who actually does not live in Valkenburg, but she is there for her work.

The last on September 3rd, 1944, just one and a half week before the liberation: Alice Gebhard- Rosenwald.

The first wave of arrests took place on August 25, 1942.…
