    Parents: Arthur Ernest & Christine Mabel Walton, Ash Vale, Surrey.
    Sgt. Joseph Frank Walton was on a bombing mission to the railway station in Mönchen-Gladbach with the Hampden AD937 when the aircraft was hit by the German night fighter [1] pilot Lt. Reinhold Knacke (I./NJG1) [2] and crashed in Houthem around 1:20 am between Putweg and Curfsweg. .[3]
    Three crew members, including J.F.Walton, were killed. After the war he was buried in the Commonwealth war cemetery, Jonkerbos.
